Astrophysics for People in a Hurry

Thanks to my friend Suhasa for suggesting this book!
Astrophysics for People in a Hurry is a nice book to give you a good explanation of different things happening in our small universe. The book starts with the Big Bang theory and talks about planets, stars, elements, subatomic particles, dark matter, dark energy and many other things that we occasionally see in science magazines.
My dissatisfaction with the book is that it is for people in a hurry and not for people in a hurry AND do not know much science. The book can not be blamed for this complaint. It never said that it will explain the concept in simple words.
Most of the concepts presented were a little difficult to understand. It talked about physics but did not explain the why or how behind them. So if you, like me, does not know much about science or would need a refresher, then perhaps you should do some extra work to understand each chapter in this book.
I liked the conclusion in the last chapter. This universe is so huge and so old. We occupy a very small portion in it in terms of space and duration. But we all forget that and run after things and do our best to make things worse for the others. May be if everyone wondered how they are not as big as they hope to be, life might be different…
